Desire + LEARN + TRUST + Nourish = VIBRANT LIFE (Part 2)

Today we return to our discussion about the equation Desire + Learn + Trust + Nourish = VIBRANT LIFE.  We started with Desire. If you haven’t read that yet, start there.

LEARN.

So once we’ve decided we’re ready for change, it’s important to get our groove on with learning. We’ll want to be open minded because it’s possible we’ll learn that our original thought about how to achieve what we desire isn’t the most appropriate route for us. So often we accept as truth things we’ve heard without even stopping to consider where they’ve come from and how we really feel about them. So now is the time to learn more about the area in which we want to see results, methods of accomplishing those results, who may support us in the process, and more. Remember to stay open to various options during this learning and exploration stage.

So often we accept as truth things we've heard without even stopping to consider where they've come from and how we really feel about them.

I really can’t say enough about the incredible importance and benefits of becoming empowered by seeking knowledge! It will help us to understand so much more clearly our what, why, and how from a mental perspective. So we started with the feeling (emotional space) and now we have moved into the understanding (mental space). It is so easy, though, to get overwhelmed by all of the information out there and become overly confused. There is also such a thing as over-Googling! Haha! Ever been there?! {Timidly raises hand} So just don’t get caught in analysis paralysis. If we feel we’re stuck in the learning mode, perhaps it’s time to move to the next step in our equation.

TRUST.

Now we’ve felt the desire for change and we’ve learned more about what is that we want and need. Now it’s time to TRUST our intuition. This is really more the spiritual realm of the process. We begin to move forward in faith.

So I want to start by asking that we get aboard the gratitude bus! What does that mean and why? Sometimes when we desire change, we can get in a “lack mindset” where all we can see is what we are missing or perhaps the support and tools we feel we can’t afford for the process, etc. So let’s make sure we continue to focus on having gratitude for the abundance we already have. By doing so, we’ll likely find that we have everything we need to get the results we covet, or that what we need will “become available” if it’s what is truly right for us! I can’t tell you how many times in my life I’ve had an idea about something that I didn’t act on right away for one reason or another. As the days passed, repeated signs or tools have shown up in my life in an undeniable way, giving me all the indications to really know the direction in which I need to move!

Sometimes, however, when there isn’t a clear sign, we have to just start moving forward anyway. If it turns out it’s not the right move, we’ll often become aware of that soon enough, or we’ll find doors being shut on our path. Don’t take every shut door as a sign it’s not right, though. Sometimes these doors are shut for various further learning opportunities. Continue to stay open to all the possibilities.

When we come upon an obstacle, it can be appropriate to re-evaluate our goals or readjust our path to our goals. Perhaps, though, we just need to realign with our WHAT and our WHY so that we remain clear on our desires and strengthen our motivation to continue to push through the challenges. Hanging with things through the sticking points is often where we will find the magic happens. Having a coach to help you determine which is most appropriate- readjustment or sticking it out – can be incredibly helpful. Having that third-party input can be just the direction you need to regain trust in the process and, more importantly, in yourself.

Often times we will find that what is actually getting in the way of our TRUST is fear. Have you ever heard that FEAR is just an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real? Let’s consider that for a moment. We really have no idea what our future holds. We color it with our past experiences and beliefs. So what if we start to form our ideas about the future with a different storyline? One that we truly desire. One where we are confident and successful. One where FEAR becomes an acronym for Feeling Excited And Ready instead! Doesn’t that feel better? Our thoughts really do become our reality. Change your thoughts, change your life! It starts to become clearer how all of this relates back to trust now, right?

Lastly, if we really want to move into a space where we can connect with our heart and intuition, which is where we’ll be able to find a deeper trust and confidence, I strongly encourage finding quiet and stillness. Spend some time praying, meditating, and deep breathing. It doesn’t have to be for long. Just 5-10 minutes daily can really go a long way.

And this brings us to our next step….NOURISH, which is part 3 of this 4-part series.

Love the change in the acronym “FEAR.”
