Why am I struggling…?

As I was tucking my son into bed the other night we were having a discussion about behavior. I said something like, "When we work against, there is struggle; when we work together, it's easier." I didn't want to send the message that it's a good idea to simply be passive, though (he's far from that, but I don't want to break his spirit, either), so, I also reminded him, "When you have ideas you'd like to share, it's wonderful for you to respectfully do that." I want him to understand that his strong will can work in his favor. He can function in opposition (struggle) or use his passion for creativity, making positive changes, and/or promoting cohesiveness and a coming together...

Distractions.

What types of things are distracting you from the life you want to live? From the state of being you desire? From the “core values” you want to emphasis and live by?   We live in a world of CONSTANT distractions! Most of us are plugged-in for the majority of our days. Even when we want to “check out,” we actually plug-in. How do I know this? I’m talking about myself!! Make a List.

Do you ever find yourself eating when you already feel completely satisfied? Or have you ever found yourself rummaging in the fridge or cupboards even when you just recently ate? What about experiencing cravings that lead you to eat even though you’re not hungry?   This could be going on for a number of reasons. One of those could be that you have an overall nutrient-poor or even low-food diet and your body is craving real nutrition! It could also be that you’re thirsty, so grab a large cup of water!
