Intuitive Approach- Part 1.

Is this holding you back?

Today, I want to have a personal chat about something that could be holding you back from manifesting the transformation you desire in your life… Have you ever wondered why it is that you feel incredibly motivated toward a goal one day, so you get started on the path to change and achieving that goal, but a few short days or weeks later, you no longer seem to be giving it priority in your life? Choose Love.

My boys are 8 and 10 years old now. I don’t really remember now at what age it was that they first really started arguing. If you’re a parent, have siblings, or have ever cared for children you know that they will come to you often hoping you’ll intervene in their quarrels. I like to empower my children to work it out on their own as much as possible. Go Beyond Food.

I believe I’ve said it here before… I’m a firm believer in Hippocrates’ adage, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” I also believe what Ann Wigmore had to say, “The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” That being said, we live in a modern society where we are subjecting ourselves and our foods to incredible amounts of “unnatural” matter (pesticides, chemicals, heavy metals, etc.). An “Am I Hungry?” Hack.

One of my first posts was titled, “Make a List.”  I could have alternatively named it, “What are you Really Hungry for?”  Honestly, it was my homeschool mom who got in my head on that one…."Don’t end sentences with a preposition.”  “For what are you really hungry?” Nope! What you may not know about olive oil.

Olive oil has an extremely long history of use, particularly in the Mediterranean where olive trees are plentiful. Olive oil is abundant in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), which are generally touted as healthy for the cardiovascular and immune systems. A few other sources of healthy MUFAs include macadamia nuts, avocado, and olives themselves. Extra virgin olive oil (referred to as EVOO from here forward) is also a great source of phenols (plant compounds that can be beneficial to our health, such as antioxidants), other phytonutrients, and the difficult-to-obtain vitamin E. As you likely know, EVOO remains liquid at room temperature and at cooler temperatures, may thicken, but doesn’t solidify the same way saturated fats do. In 2012 my life took an unexpected turn, which has led to a series of significant personal transformations over the past several years, some of which have been more obvious, visible and immediate, while others have been quieter, deeper, more personal and gradual….
